SAAC Basic Camp I

At the SAAC Camp at the Stubai Glacier, the focus is on improving safety and knowledge in off-piste terrain. The camp combines theoretical basics with a practical day in the mountains, providing valuable know-how for anyone who wants to explore beyond the marked slopes.

Programme

Saturday, 28 November 2026 – Theory
5:30 pm to approx. 8:00 pm
Meeting point: Freizeitzentrum Neustift, Stubaitalstraße 110, 6167 Neustift

Sunday, 29 November 2026 – Practical training
8:05 am to approx. 3:00 pm
Meeting point: Ticket office at the Eisgratbahn valley station

During the practical training day, participants put their theoretical knowledge into practice and develop their skills in off-piste terrain.

What to bring

• Ski or snowboard equipment
• Backpack
• If available: avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe
• If available: valid ski pass, Freizeitticket, Snow Card or similar

Who can participate?

• Minimum age: 14 years
• Sufficient skiing or snowboarding skills for off-piste terrain

Costs

Participation in the SAAC Camp is free of charge.

A ski pass is required for the practical training day and is not included in the free camp participation.
